The Taste 2013 Collage - The Duo Dishes

Due to technical difficulties, we were unable to share photos of Labor Day weekend’s The Taste Food & Wine Festival. Anyone with a website understands how discouraging and disabling it can be when your website goes down. We’re back up, and it’s not too late to share a batch of photos from the extravaganza that features so many local gems. Before heading down to Amir’s Long Beach pad for a weekend with other friends, I made my way to Paramount Studios for Saturday morning’s Field to Fork event. After 4 hours, and between the front courtyard and backlot, I found myself having sampled at least 20 plates and various cocktails from vendors, restaurants and chefs’ cooking demonstrations. That may not seem like a lot, but when it is nearly 100 degrees in the blistering sun, it’s more difficult than you think to nosh and nom to your heart’s content. I did my best duty as a food blogger to sample as much as I could!

The Taste is comprised of several events over the course of three days, so you can imagine all of the goodness that could potentially cross your lips. The photos you can check out are a few of my favorites (old and new), including food from Good Girl Dinette, Fred 62, Curious Palate, Chipotle and Sweets for the Soul. There were still a number of creations I did not even taste, so who knows what else I may have missed. If you were there and want to share your favorite, let us know!   2. Sorry about your technical glitch. Been there done that. It’s heart dropping. However, at least you got to really be there eating all that great food.


  3. I can appreciate that. When we judge BBQ we typically taste at least 24 samples which is not a comfortable feeling for hours afterward.


  4. I can attest to the difficulty of tasting lots of things in hot weather. Sounds like you did a great job, and sounds like delicious fun!
