We both have a college classmate, Heather, who currently lives in Los Angeles and works withChildren in Film, a member-based website that provides information and direct connections to industry insiders for children and their families who are interested in breaking into the entertainment world. Recently, the organization held an event, and we were asked to provide a few nibbles for the occasion. We decided to do something that all kids can enjoy–pizza! We fashioned up five ideas for pizzas and went to work flipping dough, spreading toppings and pulling hot slabs out of the ovens. This event just inspired us to go to town with pizza making for many, many days afterwards.Continue Reading »

How many ways can you use up a jar of “insert ingredient here”? There are a few tricks to the way we cook, and we’ve been revealing our methods for a while. Well, here’s one that always, always, always gets us thinking of new recipes. It’s called the “use it or lose it” method. Carole's Replicated Recipe
Another friend of ours recently hit us up to be a guest blogger on the site and take part in our Replicated Recipes feature. Carole is a twenty-something Georgia transplant here in Los Angeles who also loves everything food. We were delighted to have her try out one of our dishes and report back with her experience. As we mentioned with the last Replicated Recipes, it can be a tad nerve-wracking to have someone new cook your recipe and give feedback. It’s not always guaranteed that the outcome will be the same, nor do we know for sure others will even like the taste of the finished product as much as we did. We’re glad to report her remake of the Sun-dried Tomato and Basil Dip was a success. It even appears others enjoyed it as well (*phew*). Thanks for playing, Carole!
Oh, and she and her husband have their own blog that you should check out. It highlights tips on going green in today’s ever-changing world.
Take it away, Carole!Continue Reading »
Sun-Dried Tomato and Basil Dip

We have our own ways to make something fast when we’re not up to it. Here are two: pick something that works at room temperature or chilled and make sure it can be made ahead of time. That means you can get it ready hours, if not a day or two even, before the occasion, pop it in the fridge and move on with your life. There’s nothing we love more than that.Continue Reading »
