Sometimes we like to take credit for delicious things that were already half prepared and all we did was add a couple of extra ingredients. It’s all about the pizzazz people, and we know how to pizzazzicize when we need to. When you’re in a crunch on time, but you need to whip up a little something fabulous, don’t hesitate to use a few star starters that will reduce your fretting in the kitchen. We wanted a cookie, and we wanted it fast, so we did the only thing we could think of: pull out the Pillsbury!

Sweet Potato Pancakes with Amaretto Whipped Cream

Upon opening the fridge this morning, all we could do is stare at a couple of leftover pieces of sweet potato pie on the top shelf. We wanted to eat the pie for breakfast so bad, but there was that ringing guilt with the voice of our mothers saying “You can’t have pie for breakfast!” Plus, we’d already had cookies for breakfast this week. Well mother usually knows best, but the pie looked so good! How do we satisfy the temptation while still making mom happy? Sweet potato pie pancakes–a new world of divine! We put together this recipe and even sent it to our moms. They both want a piece over the holiday!

Pumpkin Pie with Graham Cracker Crust

You make a pumpkin pie. And it tastes so good.
When we found this appropriately named Ghost Pumpkin, the logical conclusion was of course to chop him up, bake him, blend him and toss in some of the finest ingredients we had in the pantry. The end product was what we can only call the lovely outcome of a pumpkin sacrifice.
