An Eggscellent Way to Celebrate

We’re not the only ones who are consistently celebrating birthdays for our friends and family. You must be doing the same thing as everyone welcomes a new year of life. A friend asked for a few appetizers for her 30th birthday party, and there was nothing to say but ‘Yes!’.  Good thing there was a full dozen of Eggland’s Best eggs in the fridge thanks to the Foodbuzz. Tastemaker program for Featured Publishers. When life gives you eggs, make quiche.  This was not the only dish on the table though. Foodbuzz 24, 24, 24: A Tipsy Dinner Party

When the call went out to Foodbuzzers that it was time for the February 24, 24, 24 event, the idea for our proposal came to mind immediately. Just by looking at the picture above, maybe you can guess what it was. Now don’t get scared. We did more than just whip up drink concoctions by the gallon. No, we did much more. There are great applications for spirits, but of course the ones we are most interested in are cooking and baking. Hence, “A Tipsy Dinner Party” was born.

The world of spirits–liquor, not ghostly apparitions–spans from dark to clear, bitter to sweet, full bodied to light. They are excellent additions to a number of meals. No need to worry about truly being tipsy after a meal peppered with alcohol. Good for us, most if not all the actual alcohol burns off during the cooking process, leaving nothing but flavor.

Recession Proof Soup

Times are hard.   Times are tough.  We are all broke!  When you know you should spend those hard earned dollars on your rent rather than ingredients for a new recipe, it’s time to get creative.  We all have ingredients in our pantries and refrigerators that we have either forgotten about or no longer know how to use them.  No fear!  A lovely soup is here.  Poking around our cabinets, we pulled out a few items that not only needed a purpose, but also seemingly paired together so nicely together, it was a shame we hadn’t thought of it earlier.
